These are certainly unprecedented times, and we are constantly learning to cope with drastic changes to our daily lives. Due to the uncertainty we face, it is vital for us to be as transparent and open with you regarding the steps we are taking to protect you and your loved ones.
First, thank you for your patience and understanding during this difficult time. I know that it is hard to not be able to visit your loved one, and we do intend to lift this restriction as soon as we are told by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the CDC and the Illinois Department of Public Health. This decision was not taken lightly, but it is essential for the safety of our entire community. Please contact me to set up times to use Facetime or other technology to virtually visit with your family, until further notice.
Next, we have policies and plans in place to increase infection control procedures in an attempt to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19. This virus is having drastic impacts on all of our personal and professional lives. While I would love to promise you that we are immune to these concerns, I can assure you that we are taking every step necessary to slow the spread of COVID-19 to our residents. One sick resident is one resident too many. We are all committed to following the ever-changing guidance and best practices during this time.
Our staff are going above and beyond on a daily basis to ensure the safety and comfort of you or your loved one. We can promise you the following: <\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u2022 Staff continue to be screened each shift;
\u2022 Residents continue to be screened each shift;
\u2022 Residents will continue to receive necessary services, including therapy, meals and psychosocial services;
\u2022 Infection control protocols are at the center of every interaction occurring in the facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We appreciate you and your sacrifice at this time. We do not know how or when life will return to normal, but I am confident that we will work together to come out even better on the other side.
