Generations at Regency offers fracture care and recovery programs to help individuals return to the highest quality of living as quickly as possible.

What is Fracture Care?

Although surgeries to repair fractures can be straightforward and have relatively simple fixes, the complications after surgery can be dangerous. Complications can include blood clots, infection, and pneumonia. With a partial hip replacement, the patient can also dislocate the prosthesis before it stabilizes. After a stay in the hospital, the majority of these seniors enter a rehabilitation facility for further recovery. Fracture care includes skilled nursing, pain management and physical and occupational therapy.

Who Should Participate in Fracture Care?

Older adults may fall and suffer fractures or breaks, in the hip, wrist, spine, or head. These painful, slow-healing injuries frequently result in hospitalization, the loss of mobility, and a long recovery. One-third of seniors over the age of 65 suffer from a debilitating fall each year.
